Letter from the Commissioner

AZ Thunder Summer 2011 Season

The Field Painting Party is this Wednesday. I am inviting everyone to come out and assist in ensuring that the fields are ready for the playoffs that begin on 9/14. We will be measuring the bases and painting the official lines for the playoffs. These will be the lines we use for the Summer 2011 AZ Thunder Playoffs.

Referee Schedule Week 7:

7:30 Game-AOD & BOF

AOD will supply 5 referees.

BOF will supply 4 referees.



8:30 Game-1UCK & FB

1UCK will supply 5 referees.

FB will supply 4 referees.

Next Week:

We will be having a Field Painting Party at Folley Park. The Field Painting Party is to get the fields ready for the playoffs. Yes, Im talking about playoffs. It would be great if every team could send one representative to the fields to represent your teams interest in proper line placement on the fields. These will be the lines we use for the playoffs.

Rib Eating Contest will take place at Lucky Lou's.
This week will be the qualifier. The goal of the contest is to raise money for our non-profit this season, the Arizona Jewith Theatre Company. Players interested in entering the contest that will take place during the End of Season Party need to qualify by participating in this weeks qualifying event. The top 10 times will receive automatic bids into the Rib Eating Contest on 9/21. It will cost $1 get a order of ribs to attempt to qualify for the Rib Eating Contest on 9/21.
Salad Eating Contest will take place at Lucky Lou's.
For our vegetarians we have the Salad Eating Contest. This is also to raise money for our non-profit and entries into the qualifier cost $1 for this contest as well. This contest will take place on 9/21 also.


Highlights:

BOF went from 6th place to 4th after their week 6 win over BD.

1UCK is on a 3 match winning streets. They are outscoring their opponents by 22 points during their late season tear.



Commissioner's Notes:

Fall Registration is OPEN.

Read the schedule. Refs need to be at their assigned field 10 minutes before game time to ensure that the fields are in proper condition to start games on time.

Learn the rules. Don't be the team that loses in the playoffs because you don't know the rules.

Games start at 7:30 and 8:30. Games will end at 8:30 and 9:30. One referee on each field will keep the time.

Captains have your players ready to play by 7:20/8:20 for your respective games. It is your responsibility to hold the referees accountable for starting the games on time. The games will not go longer than their scheduled time. Therefore, start the games on time.

The Mid Season Party was a lot of fun. A little hectic, but fun. Danny of Balls Deep, Mandy of Shin-Anigans, Scott of Balls Deep, and Julie won the Shake Weight Contest. There were plenty of pictures from the contest.
